Why a blog?

The day before we went to the hospital, Suzanne and I decided that a blog would be the most efficient way to communicate with everyone about Suzanne and Abram's condition.  We also decided to use this as a way to "journal" our reflections about Abram's life and death and it's impact on us.  Ultimately, we hope that others can be encouraged by Abram's story and the impact he has on us and our friends and family.  If you're reading this, you're likely in one of those two groups, and we want to be transparent with you about what we're going through.

Why doesn't Suzanne post?

Suzanne has access to post blogs, but she has so far chosen not to post anything.  I (David) was of necessity updating the blog while in the hospital, and I began to enjoy the process of writing things down.  I think it is helpful to deliberately reflect upon Abram and the impact his life and death are having on me.

How long will you keep the site live?

We don't really know.  We're taking it month by month and don't have any particular plans.  We like having it up as a way to go back and read about what we were thinking or feeling at a particular time.  And who knows, maybe someone out there facing a similar situation will read it and find encouragement.
