I realize that not everyone is fully informed about our situation, so here is a bit of the backstory.
Suzanne and I went to the doctor back in late December with hopes of finding out the sex of our baby. Instead, we found out that there were some soft markers on his ultrasound that needed to be investigated further. By the end of the week we had been to USA Children’s and Women’s for a consult with a maternal fetal medicine physician and were awaiting the results of a CVS test. The results came back with Trisomy 18 as the diagnosis.
The last six months have been difficult in some ways but very sweet and beautiful in others. This emotional roller coaster has been less than fun but totally meaningful in our lives, producing growth in our marriage, our relationships with our other two boys, our friends and family, and in our faith.
And today is the day that we take the next drop, loop, climb, or curve on this ride.
